Daniel Boone's Last Kentucky Homeplace

"Heaven must be a Kentucky kind of place"- Daniel Boone

Daniel Boone's last Kentucky home place is located here in Nicholas county, built in 1795 by Daniel Boone and his son, the family lived in this one room cabin until 1799 where it is told they bored out an oak tree and floated down the river to Missouri (Louisiana Territory).

Daniel Boone's son Israel lost his life just five miles north of the cabin at the Battle of Blue Licks, the last of the battles of the American Revolutionary War.
