Freeman Lake Park
Freeman Lake Park is the largest City Park in Elizabethtown. It features a 170 acre lake where fishing and boating are the main attraction. Permits for fishing are available on a daily or annual basis. Fish species in the lake include Large Mouth Bass, Channel Catfish, Crappie, Rainbow Trout, Bluegill and Shell Cracker. Live bait is also available at the main office. Row boats and paddle boats are available for rental and a small fee is charged for private boats. Freeman Lake Park is also home to the first Handicap Accessible Canoe and Kayak Launch Dock in Kentucky.
There are 93 acres open for picnicking along with 2 large picnic shelters with restrooms and two small shelters available for rent. The park contains volleyball courts, playgrounds, 7 miles of walking trails around the lake, the Lincoln Heritage House, One Room School House, the Sarah Bush Johnston Log Cabin, 18-hole disc golf course and a brand new Tennis Complex consisting of 10 courts (which 5 are lighted).
