17th ANNUAL CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL OF THE BLUEGRASS

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is pleased to welcome back the world-renowned musicians from New York’s Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) for the 17th annual Chamber Music Festival of the Bluegrass, presented by Baird Private Wealth Management and Baird Trust.

For the first time in the festival’s history, CMS will feature music from a living composer, David Serkin Ludwig. As the Dean of Music at The Julliard School, Ludwig is renowned as being “a composer with something urgent to say” (Philadelphia Inquirer). He will lead an educational lecture on Sunday, May 25 between concerts. This rare opportunity to hear a living composer’s work, along with his personal insights, makes this year’s festival even more special.

Chamber music fans will also enjoy an educational lecture on Saturday, May 24 in the 1820 Meeting House presented by CMS violinist Aaron Boyd. The lectures are open to all ticket holders and will explore the history of pieces performed during the festival. Works presented this festival season include pieces from familiar composers including Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy, Mozart, Schubert and Tchaikovsky. Complete music selections and artists for each concert can be viewed online at shakervillageky.org/events.
Ticketing for the event is offered at two levels: General Admission and Event Patrons. General Admission tickets begin at $48 per person and include daily admission into Shaker Village. Patron ticketholders will enjoy a private preview concert, exclusive dining with the musicians and reserved seating at each concert. Patron tickets begin at $1,450 per person.
Lodging and dining reservations are available during the festival. To book a room or make a reservation at The Trustees’ Table restaurant visit shakervillageky.org.
