Camp Nelson National Cemetery

Camp Nelson National Cemetery, located 6 miles south of Nicholasville, Kentucky, is the final resting place for many USCT soldiers and 1,247 unknown Civil War soldiers. Established in 1863, it was a key Union Army site during the Civil War. The cemetery spans 52 acres, with over 21,000 burials. Access may be difficult due to narrow roads and rolling terrain, especially for those with mobility issues. The office is open weekdays, and a grave locator is available after hours.
