Farmington, a historic hemp plantation in Louisville, was home to the Speeds, one of Kentucky's oldest families, and up to 60 enslaved individuals. Abraham Lincoln visited here, and the experience influenced his views on slavery. The plantation features narratives from Speed family writings and former enslaved residents. In 2003, the Memorial to the Enslaved at Farmington was dedicated. The site offers group bookings, and cautions those with physical disabilities due to steep stairs in the Main House.
