    The city of Stanford, located in Lincoln County, grew from one of Kentucky's first settlements. The county's motto is "A County of Firsts" – Stanford is home to the first brick house in Kentucky, the state's first governor, the first counter-clockwise circular racetrack, and many other unique assets.
