Kentucky Coal Museum

The Kentucky Coal Museum in Benham, housed in the former Benham Company Store, showcases the history of coal mining and the lives of miners and their families. Spread across four levels, exhibits include coal camp recreations, historic artifacts, a mock mine, and a tribute to Loretta Lynn. A mezzanine display highlights African American miners' contributions. Fully accessible, the museum is near the historic Benham Schoolhouse Inn, offering a unique overnight stay in a 1920s schoolhouse.
