Kentucky Symphony Orchestra

The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1992 to make symphonic music attractive, accessible and affordable for residents of Northern Kentucky and beyond. The professional orchestra has established three series of thematic programs: a subscription series of 5 programs (October - May), a free education series for all regional schools (October & February) and a free summer park series (July - September) in Covington's Devou Park.

In addition the KSO has spun off several subsidiary groups to authentically explore genres of American music:  The Flood Wall Jazz Quintet (hybrid classical and modern jazz), The Newport Ragtime Band (ragtime, blues, Dixieland, early jazz and local contributions thereof from 1896-1933), The Covington Devou-Doo Daddies (1990s Swing Revival), The KSO Boogie Band (a 27 pc studio orchestra with vocals that cover a variety of popular music (country, R&B, pop, Latin) from the past 60 years).  These groups tour and represent the KSO throughout the region.
