Established in 1865, Lexington Theological Seminary is the oldest graduate institution affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is a charter member of and accredited by The Association of Theological Schools. Lexington Theological Seminary's purpose is to prepare faithful leaders for the church of Jesus Christ and, thus, to strengthen the church's participation in God's mission for the world. To accomplish this, the Seminary seeks to integrate academic work with professioanl focus. It's students are challenged in the classroom and encouraged to apply their studies to a wide variety of student ministries.
