Salato Wildlife Education Center
Visit the nature center to explore Kentucky's diverse regional ecosystems and the wealth of fish, plants, and animals that make this their home. This family-friendly attraction offers visitors an opportunity to get up close to live snakes and turtles. There are indoor and outdoor exhibits and viewing opportunities for a variety of wildlife. Follow paved, accessible pathways to see an eagle, bison, bear, and more! Visitors can experience engaging educational programs and scheduled activities like live trainings, feedings, and raptor encounters. A picnic area, shelters, and two fully-stocked fishing lakes are on site. Fishing and hunting licenses are available to purchase. The Salato Center is operated by The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and open seasonally. The Center is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and state holidays. Admission is charged.
