Herrington Lake boasts some of the finest reservoir fishing the state has ever known. Great fishing is abundant and the well-stocked lake contains bluegill, catfish, crappie, hybrid striped bass, largemouth bass, spotted bass and white bass. The 3,600 acre lake is the perfect playground for many outdoor and recreational sports.
Located in Boyle, Mercer and Garrard counties, the lake was built in 1925 by the Kentucky Utilities Company for hydroelectric power generation. Lake Herrington is the deepest lake in Kentucky.
