Nolin Lake State Park opened to the public in 1996. The 5,795-acre lake created from the impoundment of the Nolin River in 1963 and the 333-acre park are located along the northern edge of Mammoth Cave National Park in Edmonson County.
Approximately 9.2 miles of single-track trails for mountain biking and hiking, trailhead is located across form State Park campground, partnership with Southwest KyMBA, Corps of Engineers, Friends of Nolin Lake, and Kentucky State Parks.

Nolin Lake State Park is an excellent place to camp and fish. The park has 32 campsites with hookups for water and electricity, along with 27 primitive campsites. There is a public beach, shower and laundry facilities, a playground, and the lake has an abundance of bass, catfish, crappie, and walleye.
The campground is open year-round with water available to RV campsites. Campers are responsible for unhooking from their water hydrant when freezing temperatures are present. Electric is available at each RV campground site.
Biking Approximately 9.2 miles of single track trails for mountain biking and hiking. The trailhead is located across from State Park campground. It is a partnership with Southwest KyMBA, Corps of Engineers, Friends of Nolin Lake, and Kentucky State Parks.
Birding Great Blue Heron, Canada Geese, and Wild Turkey are abundant during the camping season. Spring brings Sandhill Cranes, Canada Geese, Wild Turkey, and the occasional Bald Eagle.
Boating There is a launching ramp on the park.
Camping There are 32 campsites with water and electricity and 27 primitive sites. A playground is located nearby. Three sites have been adapted for the disabled. Pets are allowed if restrained.
Fishing Bass, walleye, catfish, and crappie are the prize catches. A Kentucky Fishing License is required. Click here to purchase a license online at KY Dept. of Fish and Wildlife Resources.
Hiking A 9.2-mile hiking trail is open year-round, featuring a small waterfall when the conditions are right. This trail is of moderate difficulty, so please ensure that you have proper hiking shoes and water.
Picnicking Picnic tables and grills are found in the picnic area. Restrooms are available at the office building. A picnic shelter is available for rent. Contact the park office for more information.
Swimming Relax on our beach or take a dip in the lake! The beach is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Severe weather can affect beach closures. ***Pets are not allowed on the beach area. Please call the park in advance for conditions.
