The Daniel Boone National Forest maintains over 706,000 acres in 21 counties of eastern Kentucky, stretching from Morehead to the Tennessee border. More than 600 miles of road and trail provide tourists an escape back to nature. Hikers, horseback riders and bikers enjoy breath-taking scenery. Cave Run Lake and Laurel River Lake are both located within the forest, along with numerous rivers and streams. More than 100 developed recreation sites include campgrounds, picnic areas and boat ramps.
